Student mural project supports community
Seneca Valley School District | Posted onSeneca Valley (SV) elementary schools can now see the big picture. Last May, over 2,335 SV students in grades K-6 worked on crafting creative submissions that focused on the overall theme of “Caring for Our Community” for the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Wexford Hospital mosaic mural. The mural project took individual pieces of student art and combined them together into one large picture. The mural, organized thorough Project SNAP, is now complete and on display in the new hospital.
“We were invited to tour the new hospital and we were pleased to see Evans City and Rowan prominently displayed on the donors wall and plaque next to the mosaic,” said Evans City Elementary School Principal Lauri Pendred. “It is a beautiful and well-designed facility that will be a great addition to the region. I am so excited our students were able to be part of it and acknowledged in such a meaningful way. Our community’s continuous support of the Saulle’s Teddy Bear Official Memorial Parade (STOMP) Walk has made such an impact in our region over the last 14 years.”
Joelleen Yerace, AHN development director added, “Thank you for your incredible support of the AHN Cancer Institute and Project SNAP!”
