Students create 9/11 memorial for community

9/11 Memorial Created by Central York YAF Students
Central York High School Young Americans for Freedom (CYHSYAF) President Clayton Brosend, a senior, led his group in an effort to create a 9/11 memorial in front of the high school that would be a visual reminder to all of the Central York community of the lives lost and sacrifices made on that day 18 years ago.
The CYHSYAF 9/11: Never Forget Committee placed 2,977 4×6 U.S. flags in front of the High School flagpole from September 11-September 12. The Pleasureville American Legion Post 799 provided funding for the project, which attracted faculty, staff, students, community members and news media visits during its installation.
The district is #CYSDProud of the students and grateful for their efforts to honor and remember 9/11.
