Pottsville Area students launch park improvement project

Students from Pottsville Area High School have formed a Schuylkill County Youth Summit group, also known by the participants as the Blight Club. The group of 20 to 25 students, advised by two teachers from Pottsville Area High School, aims to make improvements to their community, approved by the city council. Their latest project is a beautification project at the North Second Street Recreation Area. The students will plant trees and flowers in the space, which includes park benches and picnic tables, during the summer or start of next school year, according to an article in the Republican Herald.
