Pequea Valley STEM students build a 16′ trebuchet

Eighth-graders in Jamiel Smoker’s technology class built a 16’ tall trebuchet. The trebuchet was a collaborative effort of Pequea Valley Intermediate School students who volunteered a lot of study and class time to researching, designing, developing and launching the medieval catapult machine. The work spanned for over two months, and allowed the learners to gain a lot of hands-on skills as well as construction techniques that they otherwise would not have been able to learn in a standard classroom setting.
