Over 240 students participated in Palmerton Area Senior High School’s Spring Day, which was held on May 25, 2022. Think of Spring Day as Palmerton Area School District’s version of the Olympics. Students registered in teams. Upon registration, each team was required to select a country to represent their team’s name.

This Olympics-style competition was packed with fun and exciting events. The day’s activities included an Opening Ceremony where the countries paraded across the track to promote their team. Students created their own team uniforms to represent their selected country, and they had their country’s flag, too. During Round 1 of the day’s competition, the games included cornhole, tug-of-war, a hopper ball relay, kickball and a can jam. For lunch, multiple clubs and activities sold food to raise funds. After lunch, Round 2 events were held and included three-legged races, potato sack races, relay races and races through an inflatable obstacle course. In the end, the winning teams were Guatemala (first place), Scotland (second place), and Sweden (third place).

A special thank you to teachers Joshua Nenscel and Jeana Baumgardt for working with the Student Council to organize this event for the entire school.
