Palmerton students participated in one of the program’s many outdoor activities.

Palmerton students in grades 3-5 learned a variety of outdoor survival skills during this year’s SHINE summer camp. The students played a “what would you do” survival game. They also went on a scavenger hunt and a hike. They learned how to set up a shelter and create a washing station. The students also learned how to use a solar oven, read a map and trail markers, and pack a backpack. They also learned how to distill water for safe drinking.
