Students visited local manufacturers.

Sixteen West York Area High School students participated in Manufacturing Days the first week in October and visited York Imperial Plastics. Ms. Manda Meese’s Diversified Occupations class and Mr. Todd Lewis’ Introduction to Drafting & Design class received a tour of the facility and learned about how the business works with companies to create specific computer-assisted drawing (CAD) drawings and 3D prints. Students also gained knowledge on how York Imperial Plastics recycles products to eliminate waste, which equipment is used in making molds, the costs of the molds and equipment, and how robots are programmed for the molding process. It was a productive learning experience for all students!
