Students display their stuffed animal “pet”

Mrs. Shogan’s first-grade class at Level Green Elementary School in the Penn-Trafford School District held a stuffed animal show in late September to complete a week-long lesson on pets. The students read stories about pets every day, studied vocabulary words related to caring for pets, and discussed what makes pets special. On the final day of the lesson, each student brought in a stuffed animal pet from home to share with the class. They were asked to use vocabulary words in their presentation. “We had a great time talking about our pets and learning about what makes a pet special this week!” commented Mrs. Shogan.
