Fairview’s youngest learners to benefit from state grants

Fairview School District will soon offer a multisensory playground to students in the area, plus enhancements to early childhood and elementary education programming, as a result of state grants. Rep. Ryan Bizzarro (D-Erie) presented the grants funds in early October – $200,000 from the Ready To Learn grant program, and $100,000 from the PA Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) for the new playground at the elementary school. According to an article on YouErie.com, Rep. Bizzarro worked with the district to secure the grants.

“This is a great opportunity for the district. Being in Fairview, we don’t receive a lot of state funds, most of our money comes from our local taxpayers. So for Representative Bizzarro to recognize the need here and to give back to our community is just a terrific thing,” said Superintendent Erik Kincade in the article.
