Zoup! restaurant presents a fundraising check to Fox Chapel Area High School student government president Melina Bradley and student government sponsor Mrs. Erin Butkovic.

Fox Chapel Area School District students streamed their 31st annual telethon December 23, 2020, and raised more than $16,400! This year’s total brings the money raised by Fox Chapel Area students and staff to more than $918,383 over the last 31 years for various local and regional charities.

The telethon was fully virtual and raised money for the Sharpsburg Community Library, a branch of the Cooper-Siegel Community Library. The 2020 telethon included a retrospective in celebration of the 31st year and featured alumni and a special look back at the last 30 years of the traditional annual event. It also involved students and staff from all six schools in the Fox Chapel Area School District (Fairview, Hartwood, Kerr, and O’Hara elementary schools; Dorseyville Middle School; and Fox Chapel Area High School). Fundraising included a fox ornament sale, a virtual 5K, basket raffles and a Zoup! restaurant fundraiser.

The telethon was coordinated by the Fox Chapel Area High School Student Government and the digital media production students of the high school who plan and produce the event. The telethon was streamed on the Swift Fox Media YouTube Channel and a recording can be viewed online.
