Community-wide Black History Month Celebration
| Posted on
On Friday, Feb. 16, the School District of Upper Dublin celebrated Black History Month with a multi-media event sponsored by our African American & Black Students and Families Committee and the Upper Dublin High School Black Student Union. The purpose of the evening was to enrich our cultural experience and to foster greater understanding of diverse perspective. It was an exciting and educational evening of activities, presentations, interactive workshops and vendors. Activities included a student Open Mic; “Growing Up Black in Upper Dublin” — a conversation and workshop — numerous student presentations from elementary, middle and high school students; free interactive classes; soca dance fitness; Brazilian jiu-jitsu; and African drumming.
