In a partnership with Junior Achievement, high school students in Columbia Borough SD (Lancaster Co.) took part in a day-long STEM Summit. The goal of the program is to inspire students to pursue academic STEM courses during their high school career, as well as prepare them for STEM careers in the future. The summit program is held every other year, free of charge thanks to a partnership with Junior Achievement as well as local business volunteers who are committed to helping make the STEM Summit a success. This year’s STEM stations included a relay competition, experiments in biology, chemistry and physics, and electrical engineering and math competitions. In addition, students participated in a career panel where they learn about the panelists education and career journeys, as well as current jobs in the STEM field.
