For the second year in a row Burrell SD has been named one of the “Best Communities for Music Education” by the NAMM Foundation, a nonprofit that encourages active participation in music. According to an article in the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, the distinction recognizes the district’s efforts to provide music access and education to all students. These include opportunities for students to perform at college and professional sports events, and present at state conferences. The district also has hosted band and choral festivals and has brought in professional musicians to work with students.
