Blackhawk High School student-powered solutions program
Blackhawk High School (BHS) teachers Ms. Biega, Mr. Puskas, Mr. Moll, Mr. Couch and Ms. Bender are working with representatives from several organizations to bring the Student Powered Solutions program to their students. Student Powered Solutions (formally GPP) is a cross-curricular approach (five courses) to project-based learning. It is a professional partnership between BHS students and teachers, The Consortium for Public Education, CCBC, and First Energy Nuclear in Shippingport, PA. This project provides students with a unique problem-solving experience as well as focuses developing skills in creativity, critical-thinking, and collaboration. This year the school is partnering with Mohawk Area SD in Lawrence County to extend the Student Powered Solutions program to other area schools.
