PHMS students delivered 12,000 lbs. to the West Elizabeth food bank in Nov. 2021

The Pleasant Hills Middle School’s (PHMS) annual Thanksgiving Food Drive will launch Tuesday, October 11 to provide food for those in need in the local communities. The food drive has been a tradition for more than 20 years for PHMS students, staff and the community.

Approximately 12,000 lbs. of food was collected and donated during the highly-successful 2021 PHMS Thanksgiving Food Drive. According to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, more than 1 in 7 people are facing food insecurity in Southwestern Pennsylvania.

The community is invited to drop off food items and PHMS students will be able to attend a Pancake Breakfast on November 2-4 by bringing at least two cans of food to school on the day of their grade’s breakfast.

All items collected during the PHMS Thanksgiving Food Drive will be delivered by PHMS students and staff to the food bank at the Olivet United Presbyterian Church in West Elizabeth in time for distribution before Thanksgiving.
